The Digital Super 8 Camera
Created exclusively by and for Gray Mustache Studios to capture the nostalgia of film with the security of digital.
Super 8 is Back
The look of film can never be replaced, but we can get close. The cost of film continues to rise, and places to get film developed are dwindling, so I sought a custom solution. I didn’t want to simply apply a filter; I wanted to start at the hardware level. The Digital Super 8 camera captures RGB8888 at the Super 8 standard 18 frames per second. Something that cannot be easily replicated on today’s modern cameras. The lens is a true Super 8 zoom lens. This brings its vintage look and odd zooming character straight into the camera. This isn’t a gimmick; this is a system to capture the charm of film, without drawbacks.
