Who’s Behind the Camera at Gray Mustache Studios

Hello! I’m Ryan, owner of Gray Mustache Studios

And this is me on my wedding day! Hard to believe, but I’ve been working weddings for the better part of a decade already. And, I bet you’re wondering where the name came from. I started out assisting in photography. Over time, from making connections, I got into videography. In August of 2023, I started my own wedding videography company, Gray Mustache Studios. Now I get to bring my years of experience and my style to weddings across NJ and beyond.

This is also me, at my day job

6 to 4, Monday through Friday (with a rotating day off mixed in), I’m a career firefighter in Howell. I started as a volunteer at this same firehouse, and then when the opportunity arose to take a career position, I seized it. Don’t worry, this doesn't impact getting your footage edited and back to you quickly.

And this is my wife Olivia

Who, unbeknownst to her, signed up to be my free labor when I need someone to help out. I don’t force her to join me too often. But from time to time, you’ll get the pleasure of having her at your wedding as well.

Where the Name Gray Mustache Studios Comes From

For as long as I can remember, my dad sported a gray mustache. Not a beard, not a handlebar, just a regular old mustache. Sadly, several years before I got married, my dad passed away from cancer. Now, to honor his legacy, his gray mustache can live on in the work I do. That is why I try to capture moments before they pass.
